Op 1 juli 1994 werd 's Rijks Munt geprivatiseerd, en deze heet voortaan De Nederlandse Munt NV. De enige aandeelhouder is de Staat der Nederlanden.
Op 22 november 2016 is de Nederlandse Munt overgenomen door de Belgische Groep Heylen.
